Short description
Mallorca Preludes: Live is a concert programme consisting of the preludes of Frédéric Chopin interwoven with works by contemporary Spanish composers, creating a cohesive musical narrative.
This is not a traditional piano recital. The music is enriched with spoken texts and a dramaturgy of light, allowing the audience to experience the works as a continuous and emotionally unified artistic structure.
The programme reveals a dialogue between two epochs—Romanticism and contemporary music—in which Chopin’s compositions become a source of inspiration for 21st-century creators.
Programme:
Selected Frédéric Chopin Preludes, Op. 28, alongside works by contemporary Spanish composers:
Josep Soler, Teresa Catalán, Leonardo Balada, Narcís Bonet, Antoni Parera Fons, Carlos Cruz de Castro, José Luis Turina, and José García Laborda.
About the programme:
The programme is conceived as a living musical dialogue between two epochs. Chopin’s preludes—part of the “golden canon” of the piano repertoire—encounter contemporary works written as creative responses to his music.
These compositions are not stylistic imitations but independent and aesthetically mature reinterpretations that expand the emotional scope of Chopin’s music and make it resonate with today’s audiences.
In the concert version, the music is combined with spoken texts and lighting dramaturgy, forming a unified stage concept. The audience is invited not only to listen but also to experience a cohesive artistic journey.
About the album:
The programme presents the pianist’s debut album, Reflections Op. 28: Mallorca Preludes, released in June 2025 in collaboration with Challenge Records International.
In the album, Frédéric Chopin’s Preludes, Op. 28 are conceptually paired with works by 12 contemporary Spanish composers, commissioned by the prestigious Valldemossa Chopin Festival (2016).
The album is available on all major music streaming platforms >>
Testimonials
“A virtuoso and magically elegant evening dedicated to Chopin’s music.”
Vida Gražienė, Lithuanian Cultural Attaché to the European Union
“Emotionally profound interpretations and subtle scenography created an elevated artistic whole.”
Eglė Čepaitė, Lithuanian Cultural Attaché in France
“The concert was truly wonderful. I had the impression of being transported to the times of Chopin—not in a concert hall, but in a palace salon, with a group of people gathered around the piano. I would also like to add that the concert, as an event, was directed in a very thoughtful way—the announcer joining us each time from a different side. And the lights! This concert made a very strong impression on me.”
Zbigniew Ciosek, Consul of Poland in Lithuania
